CIG Foundation

Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) was Founded and it's responsible for developing and publishing Star Citizen and Squadron 42 games. CIG website: https://cloudimperiumgames.com. Both games have a dedicated site https://robertsspaceindustries.com where you register and buy the game and follow it's development.

2014

Arena Commander Release

Arena Commander allows players to test ship combat and racing portion of the game against other players or AI opponents in various game types.

2016

Star Marine Release

Star Marine module was the addition of First-Person Shooter to Star Citizen. This module includes EVA: Extra-Vehicular Activity.

2017

Persistent Universe Released

The Persistent Universe, initially referred to as Crusader, combines the gameplay aspects of the Hangar, Arena Commander, and Star Marine modules into a single multiplayer platform. Players can freely navigate around and on the surface of four planets, nine moons, a planetoid, and a gas giant.

2024

3.24 and 4.0 releases expected

3.24 will bring: Personal and Instanced Hangars, Freight Elevators, Storage Access, Hover Trolleys, Hangar Decorations, Cargo Hauling Missions, Cargo Commodity Rebalance, Dynamic Event: Blockade Runner. 4.0 will bring: New System Pyro, Server Meshing, Player Trading, MFD Rework, Distortion Propagation, Fire & Fire Propagation and Jump Points.
